It took me 24 hours by train to reach Almaty from Aralsk. This is much less than what the children of Sarzhal and especially those of Aralsk by a slower train, will have to accomplish.
They finally arrived at the summer camp in Kaskelen, west of Almaty, a heavenly place.
I have to tell you that the big disappointment was the cancellation of all the events by the mayor of Almaty (the biggest city in Kazakhstan) two days before the planned date (the children were already on their way).
Indeed, the evolution of the spread of the new variant of COVID-19 forced him to this decision.
So no real exhibition, no opening, no meeting with the public, VIPs, journalists; not that party.
It is very sad.
But the children made the most of all the activities in the camp, especially the swimming pool and disco.

Il m’aura fallu 24 heures de train pour rejoindre Almaty d’Aralsk. C’est bien moins que ce que les enfants de Sarzhal et surtout ceux d’Aralsk par un train moins rapide, auront du accomplir.
Ils sont enfin arrivés au camp de vancances à Kaskelen à l’ouest d’Almaty; un lieu paradisiaque.
Il me faut vous dire que la grosse déception fut l’annulation deux jours avant la date prévue (les enfants étaient déjà tous en chemin) par le maire d’Almaty (la plus grande ville du Kazakhstan) de tous les évènements.
En effet, l’évolution de la propagation du nouveau variant du COVID-19 le contraint à cette décision.
Donc pas de vernissage, par de rencontre avec des publics, des VIP, des journalistes; pas cette fête-là. C’est très triste.
Mais les enfants ont profité au maximum de toutes les activités dans le camp de vancances, piscine et discothèque en particuliers.
