Following the riots in southern and western Kazakhstan in January of this year, I was not optimistic that my annual workshops would continue in that country.
This was without counting on the motivation of the Nazarbayev Foundation to continue its mission.
So at the end of March, I received the good news.
This year, I would start in May in Taraz with ten visually impaired young people, before going on to Taldykorgan, where ten deaf and hard of hearing young people would be waiting for me.
As I have to be back to set up the exhibition in Lodz and attend the Fotofestiwal, this year I will not be present for the final exhibition on 16-17 June in Kamchagay on the outskirts of Almaty. And I regret it very much.
The participants in Taraz are :
Albina, Acemay, Mansiya.
Danil, Yersultan, Almas, Evgueniy, Rakhym, Rishat, Doulat.
They all attend the “Boloshakh” special school where the sessions will be held.

À la suite des émeutes survenues dans le sud et l’ouest du Kazakhstan en janvier de cette année, je n’étais optimiste quant à une reconduction des mes ateliers annuels dans ce pays.
C’était sans compter avec la motivation de la Fondation Nazarbayev à vouloir poursuivre sa mission.
Donc en fin de mars, j’apprenais la bonne nouvelle.
Cette année, je commencerais en mai à Taraz avec dix jeunes déficients visuels, avant de me rendre ensuite à Taldykorgan, où dix jeunes sourds et malentendants m’attendraient.
Comme je dois être rentré pour monter l’exposition à Lodz et assister au Fotofestiwal, cette année je ne serai pas présent pour l’exposition de restitution les 16-17 juin à Kamchagay à la périphérie d’Almaty. Et je le regrette bien.
